What kind of connection did you hope for as a parent, even if it didn’t always happen?

Sometimes a parent hopes for something simple, open talks, shared laughs, a closeness that doesn’t need words. Maybe that connection happened. Maybe it didn’t. Or maybe it came in moments, but never stayed for long. what did you long for? without needing to explain why it didn’t last or didn’t start. There’s still value in naming the hope.
