What would you do (differently) in case you were in charge of Kenya?

  • 7

Looking at current affairs, what would you differently in case you were the president of Kenya or a part of the government? How would you improve policies in your home country?

Think of challenges like corruption, healthcare and human rights, but also think about Kenya’s relations with China and other parts of the world.

I would highly appreciate your input in order for me to write an article and chapter about the ambitions of Kenya’s youth for the future of their country.

I would give people basic needs and create an atmosphere of unlimited potential and possibilities. Possibly going against every rule to recreate the meaning of a nation that was not inherited.

Thanks for your contribution, Jerry. What basic needs are you talking about? And how would you create unlimited potential? Finally, how would you counter corruption? Thank you.

As one person it is not possible to create significant change. If you want to make a great and impactful difference, you need to have the masses behind you so I would gather my army and come in to make change.

Thanks for your input, Zulekha. I am aware of the fact that one person cannot change a country or society. However, what are the first steps after setting up a government? How would you try to connect with the masses? Thanks

Put up systems that will deal with corruption, anyone found guilty should go to jail regardless of the social status, create more industries so as to solve unemployment problem. Introduce social protection programs for the less fortunate.

I would put up a tough fight against corruption and find ways to make the people get value for their taxes.

Corruption only has power when given by the public, and you cannot criticize what you allow. Majority of Kenyans fall under the youth bracket, but they lack wisdom to create a parallel but positive government which will allow them to participate fully in it’s decisions. Expecting the government to help you is wasting your time.

Try and do the right thing, support the less fortunate, make good use of public funds and enlighten other leaders on the need of development

I will invest more on wealth creation other than depending on foreign aid. This will help in job creation among our youth. It will also help to stabilise the economy.
