In light of the news about “missing” 16yr old girls who were suspected to have been abducted only for them to be discovered in a house, what role does social media play in limiting/enhancing parenting? Given how some of the girls were missing for days, how do you think social media affects parenting?

As a result of social media, many parents have neglected their roles as parent, nowadays parent spend more time in social media and they spend less time with their kids therefore when kids are going through challenges, they may not be able to talk about them since parents are not available, Secondly, some parents do not put restriction on site that their young girls and boys are visiting and some may end up watching content that they are not suppose to be watching at tender age.
It has. Kids, especially teenagers, are easily influenced by what they see on the social media.
yes,It starves the family of learning and modeling with each other social cues, interpersonal relationship skills, communication skills, and bonding.
Social media has somehow made parenting difficult because, even though parents can control everything that their children do, they cannot control whatever they access in the social media.
