  1. Your life should have a higher meaning before you explore love. If your life meaning is pegged on someone's love for you, when it is no longer there your life may fall apart. It may even be hard to live someone else after a heartbreak experience.

  1. The right kind of love from the right person and the right time can make your world go round for eternity. People who have never experience love may not relate to this but live is such an addictive drug and if taken right it has no side effects.

When I was a first year student at the University of Nairobi in 2010, a cook died one morning. I found out he is the one who had served me previous day and he was jolly and added me one more piece of mandazi. I was shocked to say the least. I was confused. I believe that was the first death I experienced so close like that after passing the age where you can decipher abstract stuff.

So I called my dad, just to ask him, “Why do we live if we are going to die anyway?” I asked him for I knew he never hesitates to share his wisdom with me. He said, “…..we walk with death right behind our shoulder, it can come at any time, so you have to be ready at all times.” I asked, “How do you even stay ready?” Dad said, “…… by pleasing God.” Now, that got confusing! I asked him to clarify how I’m supposed to please God! He said, “…. we are here on earth with one mission only, To LOVE.”

That was the simplistic answer I ever heard about the meaning of life yet the most complex way to live. 🤔😂

So I began to practise LOVE. I have figured over time that indeed it is the only thing that has given meaning to my life. Love towards self, other, be it humans, or animals or mother nature.

For me, LOVE has become an all round part of me, I’m flawed because I’m human, but I TRY.

  2. Love makes the world go round. So many things depend on love directly or indirectly to exist. Without love there's no purpose in life. It is through live that we exist and it will be through love that we exit.
