What experiences spark your nostalgia?

There are specific songs which automatically take me on a time travel trip to the past. This is also triggered by some scents, like that of rain, or a certain perfume. Sometimes it is a sound like that of a thunderstorm or crickets breaking the silence of the night through their music. This brings both sad and good memories of people, things, and places, and though I may try to suppress it sometimes, it happens involutarily and is mostly inevitable. What experiences bring out that deep nostalgia for you?

  1. Seeing someone or something from your past life that was once very integral but is now a non issue. This is often bitter sweet that can either bring tears to my eyes or give me that silent stretching smile where your lips stick together even as the smile grows bigger.
