Do we understand what it means to call someone a friend?

  • 3

Do we know who a friend is? Who do we call a friend. Do we place more value in the relationship we create? Fact is not every one you talk to is your friend. The word friendship to me has greatly been misused

The term ‘friend’ is meant to refer to a person who genuinely cares for your welfare…however, nowadays people use that term to refer to just anyone who they are in good terms with…take an example how rivalry politicians call their opponents “my friend”

A friend in need is a friend indeed. Not everyone who is close to you is a friend. You will know that true friend once you get into a problem and you need help. Most of the people you know will turn you down. There is that one true soul that will come to your rescue. That is a true friend.

“Friend” is a relative term. Everyone has their own definition that fits their social lives.

Most friendships involve a good friend who will always be there for you whether that is through simple words or grand gestures. A friend isn’t going to run away because you lost money, or because you moved further away. Best friends know that life throws many trials, and friends will stick through those trials to the end, no matter the life stages you both are in. A good friend stays by your side and a real friendship is one that goes through these trials and remains strong, even if other relationships get in the way.

I GUESS WE SHOULD UNDERSTAND THIS; What is the difference between a friend and an acquaintance? An acquaintance is a person who you talk to on occasion and maybe see at a dinner party or other social event, but the bond of a friend or personal relationship is just not there. Some people are friends waiting to happen. An acquaintance likely won’t be the person you talk to when problems are happening, as you would a best friend. Alternatively, some acquaintances become friends, if we only give them a chance. The main characteristic of a friend in this case is someone you share more time and trust with

The answer is we don’t & even if we do the era or system that moves us all will change us, which will call for so many things like competition, enviness and others, so it only takes a good heart to call some one a friend that’s why nobody teal border to look for the meaning or to even campaign on the term “Friend “

I dont trust the name Friend. Friends nowadays it’s a scam,You truly know your friends when you are at your darkest times in life .I see friends as obstacles that hinder ones progress.Genuine friends are so rare.

Friendship is almost never understood truly until moments of hardship come forth. That’s when you get to know your true friendship.

One challenge I had with making friends it the outrageous expectations I had from them. If they are my best friend, then I have to be their best friend too. Whenever I need them they should be in a position to show up. And crazier things like that. What I did not think of is how much I am giving. I expected a lot but gave nothing.

Recently, what I am learning is to have no expectation from anyone and to be the best by offering people the things I would normally expect from them. This leaves me more at peace with myself and those close to me.

I find friendship a lot like riding a bicycle … the more you think about it the more likely you lose your balance and fall off.

In my experience, the most genuine form of friendship occurs naturally, when you seem to be putting too much effort then there’s something amiss. Do not get me wrong, I do not mean that friendships are all rosy, no. There will definitely be tough times but during such the friends involved would brave it together without focusing on the friendship but rather the solution.
