SEX SCENES/SINS

Recently, Henry Cavill (Superman, Geralt of Rivia; The Witcher) said in a podcast interview that he doesn’t “understand” sex scenes and thinks they’re “overused.” I agree with him 💯 Movies have become a soft porn platfrom. So my question is, are sex scenes in movies too much or do we need more films that could focus on the story line as it dilutes the message a movie tries to pass across?

Sex scenes have been overused since the film industry specifically Hollywood realised that people are more attracted to it. Sex sells. This was a big issue that was supposed to be solved with the introduction of ratings. Some films still find a workaround and introduce mild and covert undertones that are suggestive but not sexual on the surface. The use of seductive language and the sexualised form of cartoon characters meant to be watched by children is now common. Even with the ratings indicated, you have to watch a film yourself before your children watch it, just to make sure it is clean and child friendly.

  2. some sex scenes add more to the story and are very well written. however most movies add a lot of nudity nowadays that are not necessary and at times are forced into the storyline so that maybe it can add more sex appeal

  3. it's all for perspective.....if you know what sex does to different people you'll understand the director POV. I believe if it makes you uncomfortable don't watch it

  4. I agree, some(most) scenes have no relevance at all to the storyline, it's forced. And worst of all they'll twist and turn the scenes to fir whatever agenda they want to pass across
