Any business can be profitable in Nairobi as long as you understand your target customer, their preferences, their demands and also ensure that your business is unique compared to your competitors.

      A Chemist.

If properly licensed, this is one of the most profitable business and most overlooked. They tend to do well in middle-class residential estates/areas. As a matter of fact, it’s only this year that i learned that you can bargain for medicine. Never knew that. Whatever price you mention is what people pay and unlike liquor business, there are no daily extortion from police.

I do think the most profitable business in Nairobi is the salon, boutique and cosmetic business. This is because most celebrities reside there and commercial events takes place in the big city.

It depends on the capital you have set aside for the business. it also depends on which part of Nairobi you would want to do the business.
