The younger generation in Kenya is increasingly recognizing their power to influence governance, which is shaping their attitudes towards political participation. #RutoMustGo has become a common chorus in every protest. The newfound awareness and empowerment among Kenyan citizens, especially the Gen Z, may result in significant changes during the 2027 elections as people become more actively involved in shaping the country’s political landscape. Observations from the protests across different cities and towns across the country indicate a growing sense of empowerment and willingness to make a difference in how Kenya is governed.
