Is China Now the Sole Superpower on Planet Earth?

  • 2

The US has been the sole world policeman since the fall of the Soviet empire in the early ’90s. It has relied on its economic might as well as the ability to project power militarily anywhere on the planet through an advanced and well equipped military as well as strong and compliant allies.

Lately though, US President Trump has alienated most of the traditional US allies even in the west. Most of the consumer goods the US needs are manufactured in China. The US owes China trillions of dollars. The US has been clearly in decline.

China on the other hand, through the Belt and Road Initiative, is now able to project its economic might across the globe, even in Europe. Has it overtaken the US as the sole global superpower?

In my opinion, China is not yet a superpower. For any county to be term as superpower, it must have the following features:economic, military, technological, political, the will to lead and cultural capability. Even though, China has some of these features, it does not have the will to lead, hence US still remain the world superpower .

      My brother,

What is if this convid19 is a strategy for China to penetrate in African countries? In my country, the roads to our capital city Freetown is been managed by the Chinese people. They implemented toll gates in three areas to and from Freetown. I strongly believe that China is in a bid to taken over Africa countries. Check around your countries and see if you can live without Chinese products.

It all depends with what makes a it a sole superpower on planet Earth. I like to compare this case scenario with three kids playing with one ball. If the rule of the game is whoever’s the strongest owns the ball the chances are high two will fight over it while one grabs the ball. Better still two can unite to crash one then fight. May the best team win

There is no doubt over China acquiring economic and military strength superior to the US sooner than later, but the question is, can the Communist Party-led China be ever as formidable and complete a superpower as the US has been for the last eight decades?

Like the Soviet Union in the past, China now faces several geopolitical and cultural challenges before it can reach global superpower status similar to the US. China can’t aspire to get the same respect and acceptance worldwide, even if its economic and military power overtakes the US. A democratic US will always have ideological, political, and cultural superiority compared to a Communist China.

China is coming in as the only country that can keep the US in check and creates a balance in the world as a result of decisions made by the US.

The US remains the superpower on Earth. This is because of its millitary power which is no close to any nation on Earth. The US also enjoys the advantage of its big size. The US has the most modernized weapons not equal to any other nation on the planet. China is growing very fast but every time they move a step foward, the US is always like 5 steps ahead. US remains the superpower nation.
