Why do we thank God when we survive accidents and never blame him for the dead?

  • 1

Why do we thank God when we survive accidents? Should we hold him accountable or blame it on the incompetence of the drivers? Why did he chose you over the others? Did he let the other die? If he is responsible for your life is he also responsible for the other people’s death?

We should thank God in all circumstances, sometimes accidents happen as a results of our own carelessness therefore we cannot blame God for such unfortunate situations wether we die or survive we can never blame him we can only glory him all the time.

What makes you assume people are genuinely thanking God? I have even heard people shouting God’s name whenever there’s trouble. It is more of an involuntary reaction that we have picked up from parents and friends. We do it subconsciously without paying much thought to it just like most of our religious practices.

Daisy Mwikali Mwikali I think that we learned in Sunday school to call God whenever we are in trouble because we used to call our moms.

Our director at that time of our school asked us, “what will your mom do and she is not where you are?”, “Call upon God because only He alone is Omnipresent and in one way or another is always assisting us in our endeavors” it is very much so instilled in me to call God when I come across any problem.

But right now as an adult, I mostly call upon God to give thanks. Not to question or to request for things. My morning, evening, noon or all time prayer is always in Gratitude.
That is what i do even on the dance floor or meditating in the house or just experienced a car near death experience.

        I Give Thanks!

I think we should thank God, the gods, Nature, universe or whatever you believe in for everything including the bad things that happen in the knowledge that everything happens perfectly and at the right time. In such Knowledge you will always be at Peace.

Because we do believe that everything happens for a reason and sometimes we don’t have to ask why. we only have to know that God knows us best and we should be grateful every time no matter the situation.

Humans have always credited things they couldn’t explain to a superior being God or the devil, but some of the things can also be explained by science… for instance, someone might survive an accident due to the sitting position or place of impact… but if you can’t process that at the moment you’ll credit to the Deity you believe in.
