Suicide in Kenya is considered a crime according to section 226 of the Penal code. People who attempt suicide are often arrested and charged. Do you think that should be the case and should suicide be decriminalized in Kenya?

I think people should have a right to lead their own life however they want.
Yes you will arrest me and put me behind bars but nothing stops me from doing the same inside the cell
We also need to support security officers who are requesting for clear identification, intervention and referral systems within police, prison and probation and criminal justice systems.”
Yes, many people go through a lot of challenges and to some people, the only option left for them is suicide.
Even as we decriminalise it legally, we have a very big gap in our social, cultural and religious environment
I don’t think that decriminalizing it will result in a positive change…suicide has adverse effects on the loved ones left..there are other ways to deal with life challenges and people shouldn’t always resort to suicide…
I think criminalising suicide further necessitates the need for successful suicide attempts. It does not seem to find solutions to mental health issues leading to suicide. So by decriminalising suicide, we can give a chance to the society to be treated and educated on suicide prevention.
