When I feel lonely, I try to shift the focus inward first, then outward. Here’s how I deal with it:

    1. Acknowledge It

I don’t pretend it’s not there. I name it. Loneliness is a real emotion—not weakness. Naming it helps reduce its power.

    2. Create, Don’t Just Consume

Writing, journaling, or making something helps me reconnect with myself. It turns solitude into self-expression, not sadness.

    3. Reach Out—Even Briefly

A short call, a walk with someone, or even a message helps remind me I’m not truly alone. Often, people are also waiting to be reached.

    4. Get Out of My Head

Volunteering, helping someone, or shifting focus to others softens loneliness because it creates purpose beyond myself.

    5. Move My Body

A walk, workout, or sunlight clears mental fog and lifts my mood. It’s simple but powerful.

Loneliness doesn’t mean I’m unloved—it just means I need connection, including with myself.
