The Kenyan education system has undergone quite a number of changes since the our independence. prior to the missionaries, communities engaged in education that involved passing on of skills, culture and values within their communities. this would be done through various mostly communal activities. the missionaries and colonialists came in and changes this to a more “formal and structured” way of learning . this was mostly aimed at producing African laborers for their administration. with us attaining freedom in 1963, we adopted the 7-4-2-3 system that ended the racial divide in our system. this didn’t last as long and soon we were on to the 8-4-4 system from 1985. this was also recently, 2017, replaced by the CBC system
all this have played a significant role in shaping the people of Kenyan.
tune in to our next episode(dropping on the 24/10/2025) to listen in and share your thoughts on the Kenyan Education system experience. feel free to comment your thoughts, comments and questions
