Fatuma’s Voice Foundation (“our”, “us”, “we”, or “Fatuma’s Voice”) operates the fatumasvoice.org website, mobile apps, and related sites (the “Service”).
Your privacy is very important to us. It is our policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our websites.
At Fatuma’s Voice, we have a few fundamental principles that we follow:
- We don’t ask you for personal information unless we truly need it.
- We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, or protect our rights.
- We don’t store personal information on our servers unless required for the ongoing operation of our site.
Information Collection And Use
While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, your name (“Personal Information”).
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13 (“Children”).
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Children has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us. If we discover that a Child under 13 has provided us with Personal Information, we will delete such information from our servers immediately.
Like most websites, we collect information of the sort that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service. This may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the date and time spent on those pages, browser type, language preference, referring site and other statistics.
Our purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to understand better how visitors use the Service. From time to time, we may release non-personally identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.
The Service also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged-in users and for users leaving comments. We only disclose the logged-in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below.
Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information
Certain visitors to our Service choose to interact with us in ways that require us to gather personally identifying information. The amount and type of information that we gather depend on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who comment on our blog to provide a username and email address. For those who wish to receive Service updates via email, we collect their emails. In each case, we collect such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with our Service. We do not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.
Fatuma’s Voice may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. For instance, Fatuma’s Voice may monitor the most popular pages on the site or use spam filters to help identify spam. Fatuma’s Voice may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Fatuma’s Voice does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.
Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information
Fatuma’s Voice discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information to process it on Fatuma’s Voice’s behalf or to provide services available on Fatuma’s Voice websites, and (ii) have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using Fatuma’s Voice websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. Fatuma’s Voice will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations, as described above, Fatuma’s Voice discloses potentially personally identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order, or other governmental requests, or when Fatuma’s Voice believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Fatuma’s Voice, third parties or the public at large. If you are a registered user of a Fatuma’s Voice website and have supplied your email address, Fatuma’s Voice may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or keep you up to date with what’s going on with Fatuma’s Voice and our products. We primarily use our various product blogs to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request (for example, via a support email or one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. Fatuma’s Voice takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
If Fatuma’s Voice or substantially all of its assets were acquired, or in the unlikely event that the Service goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that are transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur and that any acquirer of the Service may continue to use your personal information as set forth in this policy.
Comments and other content submitted to anti-spam service are not saved on our servers unless they were marked as false positives, in which case we store them long enough to use them to improve the service to avoid future false positives.
The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
