At what point do you say that a human being is not whole?

It is true that a human being is made up of different parts that complement each other to make it whole.

So when someone loses a part of their body, say the leg, or loses a part of themselves, say old habits, does it mean that they are not a whole person anymore?

And at what moment can we say that someone is not a whole person?
