What will it take to make voting a genuine democratic process?

  • 1

It’s interesting how the whole country has been captured for weeks after the rigged elections.

3 people who have publicly sworn to be enemies are currently enjoying the prestige of being “president” while whatever promises they were to give us are still at bay.

Who is the chicken now?

elections

The constitutional process ongoing at the SCORK is an important part of evolution towards this. That we can have a verifiable election, that we can clearly see the ways in which an election is potentially compromised. Once the loopholes are sealed in law, the next step is getting a critical mass of the population to make good political choices. This I don’t know exactly how or for how long it shall take to be achieved, but I’m making a small contribution spreading awareness through music.

The economy has been held hostage by a process that was to take a couple of days.

Wananchi to quit ethnicity and think as one. Then, and only then will the pretenders to the throne realize what a force united citizens can be. But there are those who consider other citizens as outsiders, and they the annointed ones. Well, we shall wallow together in need and want and lack of services for the next 5y before they repeat their dirty act.

How do you see the next 5 years playing out because the silence in the streets is more than “accept and move on” The silence is too loud for a verdict people should be celebrating. What are the next steps for the ordinary Kenyan?

Oh…are the streets silent? I have no idea. All I know is there is no national conscience, at least not from half of those who voted. How is it possible for people to keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting change? The mathogothanios will continue, 60 years and counting. And the beloved country will continue performing below par…and everyone will feel it! That’s the punchline.

By sealing all the loop holes that people use to steal votes, voting will then be a genuine democratic process. This is by using the most modernised and secure systems to vote.
Countries should also empower the judiciary and give the enough space to solve the election related desputes.

It would take an informed citizenry that knows exactly what leadership is all about.
