If left with no option, is it better to hit a post or another car?

  • 0

If faced with a tough situation whereby you have to either hit a car or hit a post , where do you have a higher chance of survival ?

Well it depends on the situation. If the post is something you think your car will smash through, rather than it stopping you, that is a different situation than if you think it will be like hitting a wall. But let us assume the latter: if you hit the post your car will be stopped suddenly, and you will likely be injured badly and could die.

Hit the car. It will move, absorbing some of the energy and giving you a better chance of survival. Also, many cars are made with “crumple zones” front and back, specifically designed to absorb the energy of a collision without the passenger compartment being crushed.

I think hitting a post would be much better than hitting another car, because if you hit another car, you may endanger the lives of other people in that car.

The motive here is to keep others safe and not endanger their lives.
I think the best option will depend whether it’ll affect someone else’s life. Hitting another car may injure other people in the other car, the post is better it’ll only endanger your life and car and no one else.

A post is much better. Two cars in motion are likely to exert alot of force which could be more fatal as compared to a standalone post whose force is stagnant. Anyone agree with this?

It’s better to hit another car. the other car will absorb some shock from the impact improving our chances of survival. I wouldn’t say the same for a post.

I’d rather hit a post than endanger another life

If i have only the two options, i will hit the post so as to reduce the number of casualties. Hiting another car, one may end up killing other innocent people. Better choose an option that will save other lives.
