Born a Crime written by Trevor Noah. He was just a little coloured boy the other day and now he is speaking to millions of Americans and other people around the world about rights and change. We need more success stories like such, hope he gets back to South Africa and vies for president.

So long a letter by Mariama Ba.
First of all I love that the structure of the book is a letter. I love how the writer brings out different societal issues that people viewed as normal yet they were nothing but unjust and uncivilised. It’s a book that addresses what it was like to be a woman in her era. The kind of things she went through and the amount if disappointments she had to put up with because of societal beliefs and traditions only made her stronger, bolder and allowed her to find her voice.
