they keep quiet but the brave ones attack it head on and report it it because violence should never be an option.
Laugh it of and assume it was nothing or that she was responding to how bad we treated her so it os okay. Men rarely even look at it as violence because of how most of us have been raised. We need a lot of help because many are suffering in abusive marriages and the world will never know.
This is a rare case but most times it is people who laugh at men who go through any sort of abuse from women. It is as if we are supposed to be the source of abuse and not the recipients which makes us look weak.
The question shouldn’t be about men or women. That only reduces a serious issue of abuse to a gender debate. The reality is that both genders are affected by violence and regardless of who propagates it, it is still wrong and they should all be punished the same way.
Therapists/Counselors: Counselors and therapists are specially trained in techniques that can help you heal from trauma and manage the difficult emotions that come with abuse. If you are still in an abusive relationship, they can help you make a plan to leave that prioritizes your safety and well-being.
Faith Community Leaders or Prayer Groups: Often a pastor or spiritual leader can be a great comfort if you’ve been in an abusive relationship. They can remind you of God’s unconditional love and pray for you when you are struggling to heal from the pain of an assault.
Mentors and Coaches: Mentors and coaches can be a great resource during the day-to-day struggles that come with recovering after an assault. They can make sure you have the help you need and can offer encouragement on the tougher days.
They don’t talk about it because everyone else will think it is embarrassing.
When assaulted by their intimate partners, most men keep it to themselves for fear of shame. This causes stress and depression among many men and this is one of the reasons why men die early.
