What impact do music creatives have in Society aside from sharing their content?

  • 5

Aside from churning out music and sharing contents in the music space, I think Music creatives; songwriters, recording & performing artists, producers can also help with community building and engage in conversations, interactions that connect them to the culture.

As I was reading about the Late Nipsey Hussle, I found out that Nipsey’s impact goes beyond music. He was a community organizer committed to improving his work community, hometown ( Crenshaw) and neighbouring cities through entrepreneurship.

What do you think should be the Narrative?

Aside from music creatives sharing their content, to the society some music are used as a reminder of time or something that happened during a certain period of time eg during the COVID-19 pandemic, the songs released at that time will be used as evidence to the next generation that such a thing happened at one time.

Music creatures should go beyond just sharing content. These people should realize they have fans and followers that check everything they do. Most even follow what they do to the latter. So if they are community builders, then we breed more community builders. If they are abusive, some followers copy that. They should mind their engagement and approach to everything they encounter and do. It reflects on their fan and eventually to the society.

It helps work through emotions and fosters connections between people, previous research said. The study included people with and without depression and found that both groups felt better after listening to happy music.
